Work Hub

The Little Rock Work Hub reimagines the workplace as a dynamic, human-centered environment that supports collaboration, innovation, and wellness. Moving away from traditional static layouts, the design leverages research-driven strategies to create spaces that enhance physical, mental, and social vitality.

A central focus is on communication and collaboration. Offices are treated as communication tools, where visibility, transparency, and proximity foster trust, equity, and spontaneous interactions. Drawing from the Allen Curve principle, the design encourages closer connections by placing people within reach of one another.

The workplace emphasizes flexibility and productivity, offering a variety of environments tailored to different work modes. Spaces include quiet zones for focus, energetic commons for buzz, team “homes” for anchoring, and multipurpose areas for autonomy and variety. Hot desks, efficient privacy booths, and reconfigurable furniture ensure the office can adapt to shifting headcounts without expanding its footprint.

The proposed program reorganizes 4,000 square feet into a balanced mix of work (50%), meeting (12%), collaboration (8%), social (12%), support (4%), and circulation (14%). This supports 15 full-time and 12 transient employees while accommodating growth and events. Ultimately, Little Rock Work Hub is designed as a flexible, future-ready hub for innovation and community
