Meet the voices behind Callaghan Horiuchi: Christian Callaghan AIA LEED, Partner.

Christian has spent over 20 years working at the intersection of engineering and architecture, from landmark towers in New York City to leading large-scale developments internationally. That fluency shapes how he approaches every project at Callaghan Horiuchi: building performance and biophilic strategy are built into a project's DNA from day one, the same way structure or mechanical systems are. Light, air, material, and movement are treated as part of how a building works, not layered on afterward.

Underlying this approach is a belief about what architecture is all about: "There's a big difference between design by and design for," Christian says. "We choose the second path, responding to real needs and behaviors with humility, not imparting a predetermined point of view."

For Christian, architecture is a service profession. That posture, listening first and designing as a response, is at the center of how Callaghan Horiuchi works with every client.
